To mark World Environment day 2009 Alliance Francais and Wellington City Council are pleased to present Home, a film by Yann Arthus-Bertrand.

In Home Yann brings us unique footage from over 50 countries, all seen from the air, in a thrilling paean to planet Earth that challenges the viewer to consider environmental issues.

Wellingtonians will remember Arthus-Bertrand from his stunning Earth from Above Exhibition at Waitangi Park in 2006.

The film is in French with English Subtitles, and best of all is free is so come along!

Idiots of Ants: The Idiots are a London based comedy sketch group made up of Benjamin Wilson, James Wrighton, Elliott Tiney and Andrew Spiers.

Bruce Springsteen is offering a musical treat to his fans this Halloween.
He posted, around midnight Thursday, a scary new song, "A Night With the Jersey Devil," as a free download on his website. He is also showing, there, a video he made for it.

He plays the legendary Jersey Devil himself, telling his tale as a gritty blues stomp.
"Sixteen witches cast 16 spells/Make me a guitar out of skin and human skull," he growls, at one point.
"So kiss me baby til it hurts," he commands at another. "God lost in heaven, men lost on Earth."
He emerges from a swamp or river at the start of the video, and sinks back into it at the end. Fires rage, dogs howl.

Escape to Alcatraz

Alcatraz Island (or The Rock or simply Alcatraz) is a small island located in the middle of San Francisco Bay in California. It served as a lighthouse, then a military fortification, then a military prison followed by a federal prison until 1963.
It became a national recreation area in 1972. Today, the island is a historic site operated by the National Park Service as part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and is open to tours.

The moonwalk or backslide is a physically complicated dance technique that gained widespread popularity after being performed by Michael Jackson on the 1983 television special Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever, and has since become his signature move. The purpose of the moonwalk is to give the illusion that the dancer is stepping forward while actually moving backward.

How to do the moon walk?
# Start the moonwalk with both legs together
# Lift the left heel and stand on the ball of your foot. (all the weight is on the left leg)
# Slide back the right foot on the whole foot sole
# Then stop the right foot and lift its heel, while you start sliding back the left foot
# Keep going...
