FIRE in Antwerp - Calling the Boss...

ANTWERP - 23rd June 2008 - A date to remember and never forget !
The Boss and The E. Street Band put the Arena of Antwerp in FIRE !

My 5th and last show for this tour! Gosh it goes so fast, I could see them again and again! I'll never be fed up with them...

As I wanted to have a good spot I arrived in the morning and started to queue. Already 100-150 people waiting and a few ones camped... Crazy ! I'll never do that, it would be too tiring !

Anyway the day goes pretty fast, I meet some friends and talk to fans. The weather is perfect, hot (even too hot) and sunny!

It's already midday and now we're about 600. Sun is burning...

4 PM: Too much fans in front of the entrance and we're already stuck all together.

5 PM: Everyone stands up and people behind start to push the lucky first ones.

7 PM: Doors open and it's totally crazy. Fans keep on pushing and the security can't do a thing to stop that.
If you're small and not very strong you easily lose your spot and put back. That's disgusting, I was very mad at the security.
Anyway I survived I tried to keep my place and when I entered I ran to the first pit to have a good spot and got it: in the middle next to the little stage and 5th row in front of Bruce and Nils. Not so bad :p Good view...

8 PM: I'm already tired with all this stress and being standing since 5 PM
8.30 PM: Fans are waiting and calling Bruuuuuuuuuce
8.45 PM: FINALLY... Boss Time !
As soon as Bruce and the band entered the stage I forgot all the troubles with the waiting and the damned security !
It was time to have a house party with the best showman in the world.

The arena was full, we were soooo hot and all stuck, impossible to move ! The Stadium in Brussels (where they were supposed to play) was maybe too large for the venue but this one was defenitely too small !!!
It was so hot that the Boss himself came close to the fans to give some drinks and also put water on our faces ... thanks, we needed that!!

How many celebrities does that? He's surely one of the rare ones.

The show lasted for about 2h30 with some really nice surprises such as Thundercrask, Because The Night, Fire, Point Blank, Trapped, Thunder Road, I'm a rocker and all the classic songs that we all love!

What could I add?

Some regrets?
Some songs I would have prefered? Some requests? I did... As the Boss is asking for and taking some ones I made one and asked for "HUNGRY HEART", he looked at my banner, looked at me and said "humm no, not this one for tonigth" then I showed him the other side of my banner which was "Glory Days" so even if they intented to play that song I had my request done and that was great!!
Some other things to add?
Maybe, but they have so many stuff that's impossible to hear all the favorite songs. I had one of my favorites played (Glory Days) so I won't complain but they could have add: You can look (better not touch), Cadillac Ranch, Reason To Believe, The River, I'm goin' down, Hungry Heart, Ramrod, Dancin' in the Dark, Workin' on the Highway, Atlantic City, I'm on fire, Better Days, This land is your land, Two Hearts, No Surrender, Something in the Night, Night, Out in the Streets, Darlington county, Brilliant disguise, Human Touch, My hometown, Growin' up, Seeds, Adam Raised a cain, Born in the USA, Thougher than the rest, Nebraska (so sad but so good), the beautiful cover of Jersey Girl, Summertime blues, 7 nights to rock,... :p
Ok, am I asking too much? Nooo... just a concert of 10 hours ! :)) But they can sing and play anything I'll always be happy !

I went back home exhausted, hungry, thirsty, burned and I think I certainly lost 2 kg ! But I got my heart, head and eyes full of stars.
Now, all we gotta do is closing our eyes, put any Bruce song and we'll all feel the shivers and sometimes it will bring tears... (I suggest you the live 1975-1985)

Bruce in Antwerp:
"Belgium... Belgium... Belgium: You've just seen the... heartstoppin', pants-droppin, hard rockin', booty shakin, earth quakin', love makin', viagra takin', history makin', legendary....

E STREET BAND !!!"

Hell yeah, we did and we thank you for everything !
Boss, you rock! We already miss you and we're all waiting for the next tour!

RESPECT to one of the best bands in the world !

I'm somewhere in the green circle !
